I’m reaching out to gauge interest in a committed, weekly group for ROGD parents focused on education, skills, resources, and strategies.
This is _not_: Therapy, a support group, or a guaranteed solution. Nor is it beholden to any one religious or political ideology. It is welcoming to people of all faiths and cultures.
This _is_: Empowerment for you as a parent to strengthen your knowledge and resources in dealing with how the gender craze has impacted your family.
There are other places for ROGD parents to vent and grieve. While your feelings will be respected and understood, we're coming together here to get to work.
This is a place to get resourced and savvy. To step outside of the box and seek novel approaches. To find hope that there are still things that are within your power to change that might make a difference in your child’s life.
Families will take turns in the “hot seat” as I coach them through sticky situations that will likely feel familiar to other families.
For a sneak peek at the type of coaching I offer, check out my private Marco Polo Sharecast. Message me individually if you need the link.
Timing: I am considering offering this group Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30pm PST (6:00-7:30pm EST). Please send feedback as to whether this time works for you or if there's a different time that would be better.
Group could begin as early as May if enough people respond quickly and commit.
Format/structure: 90 minute meetings, weekly, for 12 weeks, with the same group of people. This group will not begin until a certain minimum number of people have committed.
Requirements for participation: Each parent in attendance must have met with me privately at least once. Some may be ongoing consulting clients while others may have had only one or two individual appointments.
Pricing & fine print: $50 per family per appointment x 12 weeks = $600 for the series. “Per family” means you may bring your spouse and any other adult relatives who support you and are in agreement with you on this issue.
This group will require a 10-week commitment, and payment in full at the beginning of group. The last time I tried to run one of these groups, I was too flexible, allowing people to come and go as their hectic schedules would allow. As a result, the group was not cohesive enough, and sometimes I was barely paid for time I'd set aside and prepared for. Therefore, this time I am asking families to commit and pay for the series up front so that everyone is “all in.” If you’re not able to make it one week, your spouse can attend without you. In the event that I need to miss a week, we will extend the group another week so the total number of appointments is the same.
Please let me know if you can join us. If you have any questions, book a call [1] or bring them up at our next regularly scheduled meeting. I'll start the group as soon as we have the right critical mass.
Looking forward,
Thank you for your important work, Stephanie. I have learned a lot from your interviews and am glad to have supported you. But, since you have shifted your focus to your ROGD Parents work, I have decided to end my support here at Locals. Godspeed.
I want to thank each of you for your time here, encouragement, and donations.
You've probably noticed it's pretty quiet around here, without much happening. In contrast, the ROGD Repair Course and Community, for parents of gender-confused youth, has been getting a lot of active engagement. It addresses a powerful need and gives its participants a lot to work with.
So, I've been thinking about migrating the perks of Locals membership over to ROGD Repair and closing this site down after a while. If I do that, it means ROGD Repair members get access to new episodes early, and opportunities to ask questions of future guests.
Please feel free to share your feedback and thoughts on this. I don't expect to see much come in, since it's so quiet here. That, itself, would be feedback for me to consider too.
If you want to join ROGD Repair but haven't yet, and have been a loyal Locals subscriber or otherwise donated, please email [email protected] and I'll make sure you have a coupon ...
